Day 2 / 87 / 261 / Jan 31 / Karma: 2

I find myself going around the internet in circles. It reminds me of when you go to the zoo and you see an animal taking the same route around its little cages over, and over again.

Today I am going to reach out to someone on Linkdin who is a developer in Houston and ask them what they did to get where they are today, what they would do if they were me, ect ect.\

I found someone, who we'll call J.B. for anonymity purposes. A senior Java Developer in Houston. One of the things in their profile is 'Organizer of Java Users Meeting since 2007' Which seems awesome. Maybe I should try and find a meeting that I can attend similar to this one.

I've found a discord server "Game Developers of Houston" that are hosting a Game Jam from Feb 3 to Feb 5th! I'm definitely going to participate in that! I am also going to keep my eyes open to see what other events they have coming up. That feeling of exclusion I have

My dad has told me about a company: QED, who does data analysis. I should check out to see what they are all about.

I've looked them up, they have an interesting business model. I've sent in an application and will ask them more about the details when they contact me, but it looks very intriguing so far.

Some other thinks I should do are: Reclaiming my GitHub page that I had associated with my trinity email address. Finding a therapist and scheduling an appointment.Okay, I cannot access my old github, but I'm pretty sure I can still just SEE everything I put on there without having to log in. I'll just make a new one. It's a shame I lost a good majority of my code, but it's probably in one of my hard drives somewhere: https://github.com/mnewtonten

I've sent an email out to Brittany B, who was referred to me by Chelsea at Menninger. If she hasn't reached out to me in a couple of days I'm going to give her a call.

Well, I feel much better about today about clearing all of this off. I think what I'll do now, is peruse the discord for Houston game devs for a little while, and see about downloading and updating the unity engine or perhaps that other game engine on my laptop.
